View of Eaton Corners

Eaton Corners is a well located commercial and residential center in Columbia County, NY. It is named after the noted 18th century botanist, geologiist and educator, Amos Eaton, who was born and raised on the property. Located on busy NY Route 295 by the last exit on the Taconic State Parkway and just a mile from the Interstate 90 exit, Eaton Corners is officially in the Old Chatham postal area and is almost equidistant between East Chatham and Chatham. It is a common stopping place for downstate travelers traveling between upstate NY and Vermont, upstate travelers headed downstate to NY City and environs as well as a busy local road.

Various commercial activities have been conducted on the site for years and over the past century have included food such as one of the original Chief Taghkanic Diners, real estate office, retail shops, and gas and service stations. The present assemblage began in 1988 with the construction of a gas station and convenience store that is still operating today as XtraMart having been remodeled in 2013. When the Taghkanic Diner moved in 1990, a new building, Country House, was built on the old foundation. It housed a Real Estate agency, Vantage Point Realty, a food and gift shop called Country House and some offices including the NY State Department of Transportation. Later a RadioShack electronics store opened on the first floor. When the electronics store outgrew its space in 2004 a new building was built and called the Amos building and the electronics store occupied the first floor of the new building. The seven offices on the second floor were occupied with a wide variety of businesses including a consultant, a book dealer, a home decorating designer, an insurance agency, a pharmaceutical office, a mortgage banker and a builder. In 2013 the second floor of the Country House building was converted to attractive residential apartments followed in 2019 with converting the first floor to apartment.  The paved parking area was expanded when the Amos building was built and can now accommodate a substantial number of cars.

Today there are the three multi-use buildings and an additional almost 28 acres available for new buildings or projects. We would be pleased to discuss your requirements and can accommodate a wide range of forms from straight rental to build to suit to other innovative ways to accomplish mutual objectives.
